Jefferson's journey with woodcraft began in 1981, marking the start of a lifelong passion rooted in art and craftsmanship. Originally from British Columbia, his roots in Coast Salish style formed much of his earlier work. Living in Japan for several years along with traveling and working in over 80 countries in Africa, Asia and Europe had a huge impact on his design style.
Over the years, he has skillfully handcrafted cedar strip canoes, geodesic domes, parquet floors and walls, live-edge countertops, and explored the art of lathe work, yet marquetry remains his true calling.
With a scroll saw and razor knives, he has intricately carved his ideas into stunning wooden compositions that tell stories through their designs. NO STAINS or PAINT are used. In 2024, he added a laser engraver to his arsenal of tools and found it a useful tool -especially to engrave and inlay into solid wood pieces.
